About Zenta
Zenta's greatest inspiration and inner nourishment is often experienced connecting with nature.
Woven through this is the presence of the Latvian ancestry she is descendent of through her maternal lineage.
Born in 1966 in Sydney, Australia, to artist parents, the feeling that ongoingly shapes Zenta’s life is the experience of creativity as a natural expression that belongs to us all. For over 30 years Zenta has embraced this theme in her 'creative spirit' work with individuals and groups - incorporating practices such as shamanic drumming, rhythmic dance and the creative arts as tools for connecting with the story of our Spirit.
In 2021, a collection of paintings created by Zenta over a period of 7 years, each prompted by journeys, dreams and experiences, wove themselves together into creation of the Lioness Light oracle deck. The deck continues to find its way from Australia to countries such as Africa, Egypt, Latvia, the USA, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Canada.
In 2025, inspired by the journey taken by her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in 1941 from
war-torn Latvia, to Australia, where they finally arrived in 1949, Zenta wrote and illustrated the children's picture book The Songs of Dzintra - a story for both children and adults in a world increasingly living with the theme of displacement or relocation.
Zenta has had additional background as a palliative, oncology and relaxation massage therapist - working with clients living with life-threatening illnesses and trauma - both in private practice and at the Petrea King Quest for Life Centre in Bundanoon.
