Background Story
The old woman sits before me. Touching my hand. Holding me in her gaze.
The ancestral lineage of Grandmothers pours into my heart.
Her patience, born of endless rounds of Time. Love born of birthing and dying. She witnesses All. She has been All. She is All.
I want her to teach me. I pray I can grow into her.
This is my first painting on canvas.
I give thanks to the Indigenous women, teachers and elders who have shared their culture with me and embraced me as SiSter and Daughter in the kinship skin tradition.
